What does it take?

Recently, I've wondered what does it take to become successful, to become recognized and revered. As an artist here on DA I am not very well recognized nor viewed. Nor am I even recognized very much in art classes. What does it take for your art to be recognized? What about my art just isn't...special. So I ask you, the...few viewers...what do you think needs to change? I am so close to 5,000 views and I'm wondering what does it take to become greater. Simply more art, more emotion in the art, coloring (seems to get more recognition that noncolored), or what? I mean, maybe I need to develope a "style" or theme that's true throughout my art pieces. That might be one thing but I don't think I'd like to, I like drawing EVERYTHING in EVERY way.
